This is a original 3/4 ton chevy 4 wheel drive highboy pickup truck. There were only 1412 of these made in 1965. This pickup was the best you could buy and top of the line in 65 and very expensive with all the factory options that this one came with. The pickup is a very rare truck in many ways but the biggest is that it is the only 65 chevy 4 wheel drive pickup, known to exsist, to ever have factory chevy air conditioning. 1965 was the first year that chevy started to put factory air in the pickups and they only offered it in the 2 wheel drives, which was super rare. What must have happened with this truck is that it had all the work done on the line, including the air conditioning and then by misake it was picked and sent to Napco conversions to do the 4 wheel drive, which was the process back then. Chevroltet send the 4x4's out to get converted from a 2 wheel drive to the finished 4 wheel drive. This was a extensive nut and bolt restoration done with some added modern touches for safety, power and looks. The truck still has it's original axles with 4:56 gears from the factory, which were all redone. The suspension was totally replaced using all original GM parts that were hunted down across the country. Nothing was overlooked in this 5 year restoration. It still retains it's near orignal look as well as it's original drivetrian, except the 4 speed tranny which was replaced with a auto turbo 350 for pleaseure driving. The motor is not stock anymore it is pushing 325HP. I could go on and on about this truck so please call and sit back so i can explain everything about this super rare showpiece.
