These indy pace car Mustangs stood out from a regular 79 Mustangs in many ways. These pace cars came with special pewter paint with blacked out trim, unique grill and a very deep front air dam. The car also had a reverse style hood scoop, Marchal fog/driving lights and factory Recaro bucket seats which had a checkered flag design that came on both the front and rear seats. Every pace car came with a factory sunroof and a special exhaust. The biggest difference was the very bold oroange and red decals/lettering. Also new for the 79 body style that came on every pace car was the performance TRX suspension package which included special springs, shocks, sway bars, metric alum rims and Michelin metric tires.
